Senior Engineering Manager Financial Platforms

We are seeking a highly driven Senior Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of next-generation infrastructure and platforms that support critical financial services. You will oversee engineering teams building distributed systems that power trading, risk, compliance, and client-facing applications at scale.

This role requires both hands-on technical depth and strong leadership skills. You will define technical roadmaps, manage delivery against high-stakes deadlines, and ensure our platforms meet the highest standards of security, performance, and reliability. You will work closely with product managers, quantitative researchers, and senior business leaders to deliver technology that drives measurable business outcomes.

What Youll Do

• Lead Engineering Teams: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineers working on complex financial systems.
• Deliver Mission-Critical Platforms: Oversee systems supporting trading, risk management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring reliability and low latency.
• Define Technical Roadmaps: Shape medium- and long-term technical strategy for financial infrastructure and data platforms.
• Foster Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices in testing, deployment, observability, and secure software development.
• Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with product, risk, and business teams to align technical investments with strategic priorities.
• Drive Innovation: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies in cloud, distributed computing, and AI/ML to improve platform performance and capabilities.

What Were Looking For

• Leadership Experience: 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years managing teams in enterprise or financial services environments.
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in backend engineering, distributed systems, or large-scale data platforms.
• Languages & Tools: Proficiency in Java, Python, or C++; experience with modern frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Financial Systems Exposure: Experience with trading, risk, payments, or compliance systems strongly preferred.
• Operational Excellence: Proven track record delivering highly available, secure, and performant systems in production.
• People Development: Skilled at coaching, mentoring, and growing engineering talent at multiple levels.
• Education: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
