Overview

Lead Platform Engineer (Network Infrastructure) at Capital One.

Responsibilities

• Network Design & Architecture Plan and develop network infrastructure based on business needs. Create bill of materials and obtain quotes from vendors. Order and install network circuits.
• Installation & Configuration Set up routers, SD-WAN routers, switches, Out of Band management, and other network equipment.
• Maintenance & Optimization Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network efficiency.
• Security Management Implement security measures to protect against threats.
• Support & Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
• Upgrades & Scalability Keep networks updated with the latest technology and ensure they can scale as the organization grows.
• Work with technologies including LANs, WANs, SD-WANs, VPNs, cloud networking, and wireless networks. Automation and scripting are highly desired.
• Hardware brands include Cisco, Versa SD-WAN, Lantronix.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
• At least 6 years of experience with build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
• At least 4 years of experience with AWS
• At least 2 years of team leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Cisco network hardware and software
• 2+ years of experience in Python or Ansible scripting
