Job Description

Overview Interim Executive Director - Full-Time 1st Shift at North Shore Health. Responsible for overall center management, profitability, operations, and direction in all aspects, including census development, accounts receivable and collections, Net Operating Income, resident/patient care, compliance with state and federal survey requirements, employee relations, and implementation of the center’s core programs. Acts as the center representative in the center and community and follows all center policies and procedures. Conducts rounds of the entire center to ensure policy and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Supervisory Responsibilities Make daily work assignments Direct the work of employees Schedule lunch and rest breaks Authorize overtime and early departures as needed Reassign employees across areas to meet center needs Prepare written evaluations of assigned employees Enforce center policies and issue disciplinary actions as needed Initials time records and review variances Interview applicants for positions within responsibility Receive and handle employee complaints Participate in training and orientation of new staff Business Plan Annually develop and implement a sound business plan to provide quality care and maximize ROI Review the business plan with department heads quarterly to ensure goals are met Census/Mix Management Ensure maximum census development Establish and review census and mix objectives with budget and business plan Oversee resident placement to meet needs and financial requirements Accounts Receivable Maximize collection of accounts receivable Review ATB and oversee AR collection with the business office manager Compliance Ensure an effective Performance Improvement (PI) process to identify and resolve center problems Ensure PI programs meet state, federal, and Quality Validation (QV) survey requirements Net Operating Income Control labor and supply expenses on a per resident day (PRD) basis Maximize revenue opportunities including ancillary services Labor and Workforce Planning Direct the center’s workforce and manage labor costs Authorize overtime and early departures as needed Ensure effective workforce planning and recruit quality candidates Ensure annual Employee Survey and action plans; address issues identified Handle employee complaints and participate in training/orientation of staff Participate in interview/selection for key positions Enforce policies and issue disciplinary actions as needed Review and approve payroll and time records Reimbursement Identify and pursue all reimbursement opportunities Participate in Affirmative Action Plan development as required Resident Trust Accounts Supervise administration of resident trust accounts Audit resident trust accounts quarterly Consumer Satisfaction Be responsible for overall consumer satisfaction Review surveys to ensure the center meets customer expectations Have PI committee review results and develop action plans as needed Performance Planning and Review Guide (PPRG) With Director of Operations, set annual goals and objectives Develop department head objectives and evaluate performance quarterly; provide salary recommendations annually Ensure department heads provide fair and timely evaluations Risk Management Maintain an active Safety Committee and Employee Care Coordinator Review lost days to ensure safety programs and claims management are effective Ensure safety requirements and OSHA compliance Manage reporting requirements and transitional duty policies as applicable Environmental Oversee building, grounds, and equipment maintenance for safety and cleanliness Budget Participate in center budget development Operate within budgetary guidelines and hold department heads accountable Provide departmental budgets and monitor adherence Qualifications Required Education and Experience Current state license as Nursing Home Administrator Previous experience in a post-acute care setting Demonstrated ability to lead a productive, collaborative work environment Preferred Education and Experience Experience in a fast-paced environment Benefits Health insurance for full-time employees starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment Dental and vision insurance for full- and part-time staff 401(k) Program for full- and part-time staff 6 paid holidays plus one floating holiday for full-time staff Company-paid life insurance for full-time staff Voluntary life and disability insurance for full-time staff Paid Time Off Our mission is to establish a culture that reinforces the values necessary to be the premier health services provider and employer in each of the communities we serve.
