Job Description

Marine Pipefitter

Join our team as a Marine Pipefitter, where you'll play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems aboard fishing vessels, tugs, ferries, and aluminum Coast Guard boats. We maintain a core team of 3040 internal employees and scale up with up to 20 temporary workers during peak project phases.

Responsibilities
  • Installation: Assemble and install high- and low-pressure piping systems, supports, and related equipment per blueprints and schematics
  • Fabrication: Cut, thread, and weld pipes for systems carrying fluids like water, steam, and hydraulics, using materials such as steel, aluminum, and CuNi
  • Maintenance & Repair: Inspect, test, and maintain existing pipe systems to ensure safety and performance
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings to determine materials, layout, and installation methods
  • Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols and shipyard regulations while working in marine environments
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in pipefitting, welding, and blueprint reading
  • Experience with specialized pipefitting tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with materials like CuNi, aluminum, steel, and plastics
  • Completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship or vocational training
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet classification standards
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
  • Schedule: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Setting: Work takes place aboard dry-docked vessels, ships in service, and internal fabrication facilities
  • Gear: Appropriate safety equipment required, including hard hats, gloves, and protective clothing

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00/hr.
