Wayne HealthSports is seeking a dedicated full-time Athletic Trainer to join our sports medicine team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care for student-athletes, preventing injuries, evaluating and treating injuries, and promoting overall physical health and wellness. This role reports to Sports Medicine Manager and Director of Rehab Serv.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required, Masters preferred.
• Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
• Athletic Trainer licensure in Ohio
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
• Previous experience working as an athletic trainer at the high school level preferred
• Knowledge of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency medical procedures
• Knowledge of sports psychology and general health and wellness practices
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to the care of the student-athletes

Responsibility:

• Expected to travel and attend functions at various locations both within and external to the hospital such as athletic events.
• Provide first aid and immediate medical attention for athletic injuries and conditions.
• Maintain accurate records and reports, including documentation of injuries, treatments and rehabilitation programs.
• Ensure proper use of athletic equipment and facilities to minimize risk of injury.
• Communicates with athletes, coaches, parents and school staff when needed.
• Provide educational resources about injury prevention, emergency protocols, and health and wellness.
• Provide injury assessments and care during practices, games, and other athletic events.
• Offer injury prevention, rehabilitation services, recovery plans to athletes, parents and coaches.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
