Job Details
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment.
- Demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population.
- Incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).
- Performs nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Contributes to quality nursing practice using creativity and innovation to improve care delivery.
- Identifies aspects of practice important for quality monitoring and uses benchmarks to measure quality, safety, and effectiveness.
- Participates in efforts to minimize costs and correct process inefficiencies.
- Demonstrates consistency in hourly rounding and timely response to patient needs.
- May function in the scrub role in the operating room after completing necessary training/competency.
- Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Communicates effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and others in nursing practice.
- Practices ethically guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Advocates for patient safety, quality improvement, and equitable care.
- Utilizes appropriate resources to plan and provide safe, effective, and financially responsible nursing services.
