• Location: Richmond, VA (23219) – Virginia healthcare jobs\n
• Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center, Main 8 West Medical Surgical Care Unit\n
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse\n
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)\n
• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 7:00am–7:00pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:00am), 3 shifts per week\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• Unit Size: 28 beds, including 8 progressive care beds\n
• Weekend Coverage: Required\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020 - $2070\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Level 1 Trauma RN experience\n
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (must be in hand at time of submission)\n
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required\n
• EPIC charting experience required\n
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred\n
• Ability to float within specialty as needed\n
• Two professional nursing references required\n
• Compliance with facility policies, including natural nail policy and fingerprinting for ER/Psych candidates\n

\n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality clinical care to adult and geriatric patients with acute gastrointestinal, cardiac, renal, hepatic, endocrine, sickle cell, hematological, respiratory, and gynecological disorders\n
• Monitor and manage patients using bedside and remote telemetry\n
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including physicians, case managers, pharmacy, PT/OT, respiratory therapists, and social workers\n
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records\n
• Participate in orientation and complete required modules during the first week\n
• Float within scope to support unit and hospital needs\n
