Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Tool and Die Designer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing precise tooling solutions—including dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges—that support the manufacturing of high-quality components. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, machinists, and production staff to ensure tools meet performance and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:Design progressive and transfer dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to develop robust, cost-effective tooling solutions.
Interpret technical drawings, part models, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to validate tool and product integrity.
Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation including BOMs, revision histories, and CAD files.
Provide engineering support during tool fabrication, testing, and implementation phases.
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling performance issues and recommend solutions.
Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Required:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in tool and die design, preferably in a stamping or manufacturing environment.
Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).
Strong understanding of GD&T, materials science, and manufacturing techniques.
Familiar with machining, metal stamping, injection molding, and heat treatment processes.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and detail-orientation skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred:
Experience with FEA software or simulation tools.
Background in a tool room or die maintenance environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
