Job Description

Overview:
This position is for a Sr. Data Engineer with primary role in Oracle database administration and must be enthusiastic about gaining experience with other DBMS technologies like MySQL, SQL Server, DB2, and PostgreSQL.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. 5+ years of experience in database administration, operations, and production support. Candidate must have excellent knowledge in resolving performance tuning issues.
2. Experience in monitoring, backup/recovery management, DB provisioning/de-provisioning, DB refresh/restore, HA/DRE, patching, migration, replication, and upgrades. Understanding of incident management, problem management, and change management. Experience in ticketing tools such as Service Now.
3. Ability to document solutions and train operational teams. Experience in administering MySQL database is a plus.
4. Experience with other DBMS platforms (SQL Server/DB2/PostgreSQL) will be an added advantage.
5. Experience in MySQL, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2 is a plus.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Flexible, team player, and a get-it-done personality.
8. Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams. Certifications in this area are a plus.

Key Skills:

1. Oracle DBA, Oracle database administration, operations, and production support. Logical approach to work and ability to prioritize tasks.
2. Experience in database and application performance tuning. Experience in monitoring, backup/recovery management, DB provisioning/de-provisioning, DB refresh/restore, HA/DRE, patching, migration, replication, and upgrades.
3. Understanding of incident management, problem management, and change management. Experience in MySQL, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2 is a plus.
