The Role: Product Owner Data Migration Platform

Were seeking aQA Engineerwhos curious, detail-obsessed, and driven to build high-quality, user-friendly software that supports communities across the U.S. This role offers a chance to grow your QA expertise, work with modern tools, and help scale our cloud-native platform for small-town governments.

You'll be embedded in a cross-functional product team and collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA leads to test and validate features that matter. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to contribute, learn, and evolve with a high-performing GovTech team.

How Youll Make an Impact

• Own the quality of product releases by executing thoughtful, comprehensive testing
• Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases
• Uncover bugs before our users doensuring a seamless experience for local government users
• Contribute to a growing suite of automated UI and API tests using modern frameworks like Playwright
• Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) with tests embedded in pipelines
• Work in a highly collaborative Agile environment and provide QA expertise in sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives
• Champion quality practices across the engineering team, from test planning to defect resolution

This isnt just about checking boxes or running scripts. As a QA Engineer at gWorks, youll help shape how quality is defined, measured, and scaled across our platform. Youll get exposure to a variety of productsfrom financial software to GIS toolsand will be part of a lean, fast-moving engineering team that values humbitious (humble + ambitious) collaboration.

What Youll Bring

• 2+ years of professional software QA experience (manual + some automation)
• Solid test planning, test case development, and bug-reporting skills
• Proficiency in tools like TestRail, Postman, or Playwright (or similar)
• Hands-on experience with Agile development and SDLC/STLC frameworks
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• High attention to detail and a bias toward action
• Bonus: Experience with TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL, API testing, CI/CD tools, and BDD frameworks like Cucumber

What Success Looks Like

• 100% of assigned features are tested and validated before release
• Reduction in post-release bugs and user-reported issues
• High quality bug reports that drive quick triage and resolution
• Contribution to improved automation coverage across UI and APIs
• Mastery of at least three new QA tools or practices in the first year
  

Where Youll Work

• Omaha-based?You'll follow our hybrid model: work remotely with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays
• Remote?Youll be fully supported to work from anywhere in the U.S.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary Range:$55,000- $80,000
