Northern California Grooming Academy (NCGA) is the only premier grooming school located in Silicon Valley, proudly serving the San Jose and south bay area that focuses on cultivating outstanding pet grooming professionals. We are looking for like-minded and qualified pet professionals that would like to join our team. He or she will be responsible for producing high-quality grooms while working alongside students, helping them through their training program by providing guidance and setting an example.
Our goal is to be at the forefront in setting the next high standard in the grooming industry. NCGA invests in its team and wants everyone to be exemplary, the ideal role models for the students. The right candidate will receive comprehensive training to uphold the NCGA standards.
Qualifications:
- High School or Equivalent
- Professional animal grooming experience/training ; able to produce high-quality grooms of an average of 5 dogs per day
- Excellent scissoring skills
- Knowledgeable of breed standard trims
- Ability to safely handle all breeds and sizes
- Good calming presence and dog handling skills
- Passionate about dogs, safety, and continual education
- Outstanding personal skills and excellent communication amongst students, colleagues, and customers
- Enjoy guiding and mentoring eager to learn students
- Takes initiative to complete tasks
- Conscientious, punctual, and reliable
- Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making
- Approachable, team-oriented, and coachable
- A focused learner that can retain information and apply new skills into their practice
- Work well independently and as a team
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a quick-paced environment
- Reach, bend, stoop, and be able to lift 50lbs +
- Work in a standing position for a long period of time
- Work in an environment with loud noises, hair everywhere, dog dander, pet waste, disinfectants/chemicals.
- Availability on weekends and holidays
