NEW Software Engineer Platform & Systems at CrossTerra

Join us to apply for the NEW Software Engineer Platform & Systems role at CrossTerra .

About the Role: CrossTerra is building infrastructure to enable seamless cross-border commerce, including fulfillment, localization, payments, and marketplace integrations. Our stack includes APIs, Lambdas, multi-tenant frontends, and cloud-native infrastructure. We are looking for a senior engineer to help us scale effectively.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing standards across Python Lambdas, TypeScript frontends, Terraform modules, and container infrastructure.
• Refactoring complex logic into clean, maintainable interfaces.
• Owning key workflows such as CI/CD pipelines, observability, dev containers, and local development tooling.
• Contributing to new services, including event-driven Lambdas and APIs for logistics, customs, payments, and catalog sync.
• Leveraging AI tools like Cursor, Codex, ChatGPT to accelerate development and maintain quality.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust features on schedule.
• Writing scalable documentation, from README guides to design notes.

Our Tech Stack includes:

• APIs & Lambdas: Python 3.11 (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, AWS Lambda, EventBridge, Poetry)
• Frontends: Next.js, Tailwind, Ant Design
• Infrastructure: Terraform, ECS/Fargate, Docker, RDS, S3, EKS
• Tools: DevContainers, GitHub Actions
• Data: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Shopify, DeepL
• Observability: OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Grafana

Requirements:

• 7+ years in backend systems and infrastructure development.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with experience in cloud-native environments.
• Experience shipping features with minimal debt and understanding of system boundaries.
• Ability to utilize AI tools effectively to speed up development.
• Clear communication skills in PRs, documentation, and Slack.

Preferred:

• Experience with commerce, logistics, or marketplace platforms.
• Familiarity with Alibaba Cloud, DevOps pipelines, or deployments in China.
• Contributions to open source or shared tooling.
• Experience supporting multi-market, multi-language, or multi-tenant systems.
