The role of music therapist will be to assess patient/family needs, develop a care plan in accordance with the interdisciplinary team and implement the care plan based on individual needs. Music will be used to facilitate change and/or to maintain functioning to contribute to quality of life. The music therapist will continually update and revise plan of care for patient/family regarding patient/family progress. The music therapist will consult with other team members on the therapeutic use of music; coordinate education in-services for hospice staff and community at large; supervise music therapy practicum students and interns; and provide music support to enhance other programming and services throughout the organization. Education: Master of Music Therapy required. Licensures/Certifications: Required: Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Licensed Practicing Music Therapist (LPMT). Experience: Minimum of two years related experience. Skills: Advanced knowledge of hospice philosophy; skill in oral and written communication; skill in listening, teaching and public speaking; skill in working both independently and in a team environment; customer service skills; skill in computer proficiency, including working in electronic medical record; ability to develop associated treatment modalities; skill in time management and organization.
