Responsibilities:
- Determine creditworthiness by obtaining credit history, assets and liabilities, income and employment verification, and performing a background check
- Proactively stay abreast of mortgage industry trends and lending rate sheets; maintain strong relationships with mortgage lending sources / mortgage bankers, and establish referral relationships with real estate professionals
- Submit application file to lenders in order to apply on the homeowners’ behalf
- Explain varying loan products, buying or refinance process, and lending guidelines to applicants
- Determine each applicant’s or borrower’s specific lending or refinance needs after conducting a thorough interview
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred in economics, business administration, banking, finance, or real estate law
- Have a strong understanding of loan products and loan process from origination to close
- 5 years of mortgage loan origination or loan officer experience required
- Up to date NMLS licensure or National Association of Mortgage Broker license or certification is required
- Exceptional communications skills, time-management and analysis skills, and independently resourceful
