Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

We're searching for a Logistics Management Specialist to join our team to manage all aspects of AGSE Ohio’s international logistics operations by focusing on efficient physical movement, storage, and delivery of finished products (aerospace engine tooling) between suppliers, warehouses, and customers while minimizing costs and meeting delivery deadlines.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with business leadership in formulating an international strategic plan along with implementing effective processes and managing resources to minimize costs and delivery lead-times between suppliers, warehouses, and customers.
  • Plans and coordinates product deliveries according to customer requests, including drayage, trans-load/warehouse, etc.
  • Quotes rates and calculate shipment and storage costs based on weight, volume, and transit mode/distance.
  • Communicates directly with transportation providers to meet customer delivery and handling requirements.
  • Arranges import/export clearance and tariff classification for customs house brokers, forwarders, consolidators, and carriers.
  • Communicates with customers and internal associates to provide the latest updates on their shipments.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Investigates, resolves, and documents shipment discrepancies; analyzes and suggests improvements.
  • Analyzes transportation supplier invoices and verify charges to schedule payments.
  • Evaluate and process insurance claims if required.
  • Expands operational distribution plan to support new business opportunities in collaboration with management.
  • This position is onsite at AGSE’s Ohio location and requires international travel 5 – 10 weeks per year as needed to establish and oversee warehouses.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or transportation; and/or 5 years of related experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ import/export experience in the logistics field with comprehensive understanding of international VAT recovery and T1 external transit declarations.
  • Certified International Trade Logistics Specialist (CITLS) certification highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of international supply chains, Customs & Border Patrol (CBP), and compliance/FMC/PGA.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain/logistics processes and current best practices.
  • Experience managing order fulfillment, warehousing, transportation suppliers, physical movement of finished goods to customers, and handling customer returns.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including detailed reporting abilities.
