Homeowners Association (HOA) Community Install Technician - Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, setup, and service of technology solutions in HOA communities, supporting our mission to provide safety, connectivity, and peace of mind to our customers. You'll primarily work on smart home systems, security solutions, access control, networking, and related technologies in multi-residential or neighborhood settings.

HOA Community Installation Technician - Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and service smart home and security systems in HOA communities including entry gates, cameras, access control, lighting, and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Work directly with HOA property managers, residents, and vendors to ensure installations meet community requirements and expectations.
  • Conduct on-site surveys to evaluate installation plans and provide recommendations for optimal system performance and coverage.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting to verify system integrity and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Educate and train customers on usage, care, and troubleshooting of installed systems and devices.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, updates, and maintenance requests using company-provided software.
  • Manage vehicle inventory to ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available for scheduled jobs.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and work independently or collaboratively with team members.
  • Continue to learn and grow your skills as technology and community needs evolve.
  • Follow safety standards and company procedures at all times.
  • Support other duties as assigned by management.
Community Technology Installer - Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Professional attitude and strong communication skills for interacting with customers, property managers, and team members.
  • Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Experience installing or servicing security, CCTV, access control, smart home, networking, or similar systems (1-2 years preferred, but not required if you have related skills).
  • Familiarity with residential, multi-family, or community infrastructure is a plus.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors and indoors, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Bilingual abilities are a major plus.
Education & Experience for HOA Community Install Technician
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in security, electrical, low voltage, networking, or smart home technology is preferred, but we will train candidates with the right attitude.
  • Experience working with HOA or multi-family clients is a strong advantage.
