Job Description: IT Project Specialist - Parking Data & GIS The Parking Planning and Policy Unit within Parking Operations, Planning and Analysis seeks a data-oriented professional with good familiarity with ArcGIS to support decision-making related to curb management in New York City. The candidate will manage datasets, perform data analysis, improve processes, and contribute to ongoing data efforts within the Department of Transportation. Key Duties include: Updating and maintaining division GIS datasets and web maps using ArcGIS. Analyzing operational and financial metrics, such as revenue from metered spaces and geographic distribution. Facilitating cross-division and cross-agency GIS data processes. Enhancing data operations to follow best practices and address inefficiencies. Building tools to support databases, workflows, and staff. Managing data collection related to division's timelapse camera efforts. The candidate will develop methods, build technical knowledge, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Proficiency in data visualization, processing large datasets, and experience in governmental or transportation settings are preferred. Knowledge of NYC policies and data sources is a plus. Baccalaureate degree in relevant fields + 4 years full-time experience, or 2. Associate degree + 6 years experience, or 3. Baccalaureate degree + 8 years experience, or 4. Equivalent education/experience. Preferred Skills Experience manipulating GIS datasets and using ArcGIS tools. Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Good organization and documentation skills. Experience with PowerBI is a plus. Additional Information Eligible for federal and state student loan forgiveness programs. NYC residency not required.
