Job Description

You will serve as the Executive Director, Marine Forces Command, and the Commander's principal advisor and expert in mission, functions, and tasks as a USMC Service retained command, advisor, and expert in Title 10 matters as a subordinate service headquarters under the authority of the Commandant of the Marine Corps. Incumbent is responsible for the continued development of new, innovative programs and concepts to improve operational readiness and effectiveness, efficiencies, and performance. Responsibilities You will create headquarters business operating models and lead efforts to optimize structures, policies and mechanisms to ensure headquarters is effectively and efficiently accomplishing its mission and aligned with war fighter needs. You will lead the reengineering and integration of common organization-wide business processes and leverage information technology tools to improve organizational effectiveness and reduce overall operating costs. You will provide oversight of administrative, operational, logistical, and financial processes to ensure they are best aligned to support the optimal execution of organizational mission and goals. You will develop program policy and procedures and execute operating policies and philosophies. You will represent the Command at meetings and conferences, task forces, work groups and similar bodies. Qualifications Must be a US Citizen. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. May be required to successfully complete a 1-year SES probationary period. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
