We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven and experienced Director of Sales-Courier Services and Freight in our Houston corporate office . Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong sales experience and excellent client relationship-building skills. Competitive commission structure for substantial income potential.

This position is in-office with no remote work consideration. Travel of up to 50% is required.

The successful candidate will possess:

· Work history demonstrating prospecting, presentation, negotiations and closing new business and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

· Ability to communicate through various means (written and verbal) with diverse individuals, including internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a clear, concise, positive, and courteous manner. Ability to demonstrate respect to others, surroundings, and self.

· A relentless entrepreneurial spirit with aggressive “hunter” mentality to include excellent prospecting skills and strong sales ability.

· Experience working directly with customers and vendors.

· A minimum of 5 years’ sales management experience in courier services and freight services.

· Initiative to identify opportunities and issues and follow through on work activities to capitalize or resolve them.

· Ability to learn quickly and take positive action without being requested to do so.

· Interest in learning about the entire business.

Sales Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Courier Services and Freight Department
• Manage the launching and stabilization of new business.
• Pursue and manage business opportunities.
• Gain a clear understanding of customers’ business and service requirements to support customers and meet expectations.
• Understand directions and guidelines set by the CEO and COO and execute those directives.
• Make accurate rapid cost calculations and provide prospects with proposals for service.
• Develop, maintain, and report on Key Performance Metrics.
• Strengthen relations with existing customers as well as build new relationships with potential customers.
• Prepare and send quotations and other literature to prospective clients.
• Investigate root causes and perform corrective action to resolve courier and freight issues.
• Produce agreements including all supporting documentation.
• Negotiate pricing and service aspects to CLOSE new business.
• Resolve service failures and implement processes for continuous improvement.
• Act as liaison between multiple business units.
• Monitor and identify data inaccuracies and work within various departments to resolve.
• Compile and analyze historical data to monitor trends and assist in developing bid packages.
• Effectively articulate rationale for cost savings opportunities including results of sourcing metrics to Executive leadership.
• Travel up to 50% to various markets around the country to visit customers, source new business, analyze and audit current operations processes, and make recommendations for improvements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or related field required.

· Strong knowledge of Courier Services and Freight sales is a MUST.

· At least 5 years of experience in sales leadership role, focused on Courier Services and Freight Services.

· Proven history of sales achievement.

· Successful track record in directly driving business, maintaining client relationships and
people management.

· Experience managing teams and setting objectives and goals.

· Excellent leadership, influence, organization, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

· Proficient in MS Office.

· Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the
organization.

· Ability to inspire and develop others.

· Must be able to interact with executive level management.

· Ability to handle multiple accounts with different product direction.

· Flexibility and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.

· Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.

· Solid advanced knowledge of distribution management at a strategic level with an
emphasis on sales and demonstrated knowledge of Profit & Loss performance
required.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work with diverse populations.

· Expertise in Courier Services and Freight management.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

· Knowledge or prior experience in Sales Software Systems (Zoho).
