DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this Clerk 2 position, you will be one of the first individuals that our community members will interact with when they need the transportation services we offer. Our team will rely on you to provide a positive first impression and consistently effective customer service. This vital role works independently to complete tasks assigned by the team (Director, Operations Manager). You will dispatch drivers and vehicles, answer phones, schedule trips, appropriately route calls, and maintain electronic and written records. Proficiency in using a computer and tablet is key for success in these important duties. Your responsibilities will also include developing and maintaining a good operational understanding of the Wayne County Transportation System. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours total 37.5 hours per week. Schedule varies between 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. Employee may have irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • May have overnight travel or out of County travel for meetings or training.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
