Highliner, located in Dutch Harbor, is the distribution center for Rogge, a full line food distributor, provisioning companies and marine vessels throughout remote Alaska since 1939. Rogge distributes dry, chilled, and frozen institutional grocery products, including fresh dairy as well as a full line of produce items for distribution throughout Alaska. Rogge is a division of Charlie’s Produce, one of the largest privately owned produce wholesalers on the West Coast.
We are seeking an on-call or part-time Class B Delivery Driver
Compensation Details:
Competitive wage- $35.00 per hour
Schedule and shift:
Varies or can be set days- up to 19 hrs. weekly
Job Description
The Role
Highliner is looking for a part-time or on-call Class B Delivery Driver. In this role you will be driving a box truck or flatbed to and from the docks and shoreside processing plants and assist in loading and unloading products. The role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to details and safety-conscious mind-set. .
Must be a self-starter, team-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Particular attention must be given to safety, accuracy, quality and timeliness. Must have sensory capabilities to avoid accidents..
Essential Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To
Performs daily routine safety checks, and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle
Safe and efficient delivery of products to customer sites in box trucks or flatbeds
Offload trucks using equipment such as forklift or pallet jack
Other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
22 yrs or older
1 + years driving experience
Satisfactory driving record
Valid Medical Examiners Card (company will cover cost)
Per DOT rules, applicant should have the ability to read and understand English
Ability to provide exceptional customer service and actively respond to customer requests.
Ability to perform continuous physical exertions such as repetitive lifting, stacking, and moving product as part of a rigorous daily routine.
Ability to work in all weather extremes including extreme cold, wet or dry conditions.
Ability to lift/push /pull up to 50lbs
Ability to work in refrigerated environment, 35 – 45 degrees
Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test including marijuana

This is a safety-sensitive position.
