We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team in Sparks, Maryland. This Contract to permanent role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in financial recordkeeping and a passion for accuracy. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial data, managing accounts, and supporting various business functions.

Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable tasks, including entering vendor information, reviewing requisition forms for proper documentation, and processing payments on a weekly basis.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and ensure timely entry of all cash receipts into the general ledger.
• Handle student billing processes by recording tuition payments, preparing insurance reports, and entering incidental charges.
• Oversee barn billing activities by invoicing community riders, inputting student barn fees, and addressing overdue accounts.
• Prepare and deposit all incoming funds while collaborating with the Development Office to ensure proper recording of gifts.
• Generate invoices for facility rentals based on the master schedule and track associated payments.
• Support end-of-year processes by assisting in the preparation of 1099 tax forms.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies and prepare detailed reports for the Business Manager as needed.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of financial records across all relevant systems.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial management and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with payroll procedures and month-end financial close activities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and external contacts.
