Summary The Asset Protection Officer is responsible for securing all of The United Family’s assets while providing a safe work environment for our team members and a safe shopping environment for our guests. He/She will perform duties including apprehending and deterring shoplifters, monitoring store shrink, safety checks, and other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities Greet and engage guests entering the area or department. Take proactive measures to minimize loss from all sources in the store. Follow corporate guidelines and applicable state laws; apprehend guests or team members who commit theft. Follow daily work schedules as assigned by the Asset Protection Manager. Conduct surveillance and investigations as directed by Asset Protection Management. Coordinate with Asset Protection management on shrink reduction programs. Perform operational audits, safety checks, and walks at the store level. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Key Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older. Commissioned law enforcement officer preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform physical duties including bending, standing, lifting, squatting, climbing, walking, and running. Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude. Ability to function well under pressure and make sound decisions. Ability to learn and operate various computer software and electronic tools. Ability to multitask effectively.
